KUMEYAAY GRINDING STONES

Ancient large granite grinding stones are a very common site in San Diego County's remote backcountry.

These large aboriginal stones were photographed in 2005 at Indian Hill, a well-known ancient tribal village site in Southern California. Experts have excavated areas of this large village site and determined the California Indians of San Diego County have lived in the Indian Hill area for over 6,000 years, since 4,000 B.C.

Indian Hill is a prehistoric aboriginal California archeological site know for its wealth of Native American rock paintings, cave drawings, petroglyphs, pictrographs, its Native American history in prehistoric San Diego County, Southern California.
