HARVESTING SPECIAL RED CLAY

Three Pai-Pai Native American Indians are pictured in 2006 outside of their Pai-Pai Indian home in Santa Catarina, a high desert tribal community in BC, Mexico.

Red clay dirt is shown on Indian blankets was harvested in preparation for making the natural clay material the ethnographic tribal artists will use in their coiled clay indigenous Yuman style ceramic pottery olla art.

This gathering and manufacturing process has served the American Indian tribed for thousands of years.
